Repair or Replace?

We'll always tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense. Here's a general guide:

Repair usually makes sense when…

  • Your AC is under about 10–12 years old
  • It's a single, affordable part failure
  • The system has been reliable until now
  • It still cools your home evenly

Consider replacing when…

  • Your AC is 12–15+ years old
  • It uses R-22 refrigerant, which is phased out and costly
  • The repair cost is a large share of a new system
  • You've needed several repairs in a few years

AC Repair FAQs

Do you offer emergency AC repair?

Yes. We offer 24/7 emergency AC repair across the Treasure Valley. If your air conditioning goes out during a heat wave, call (208) 202-8297.

Why is my AC running but blowing warm air?

Common causes include a failed capacitor, low refrigerant from a leak, a frozen coil, a dirty filter or a problem with the outdoor unit. A technician can pinpoint the exact cause and fix it.

Why is my AC leaking water?

Most indoor leaks come from a clogged condensate drain line or a frozen coil that's melting. Turn the system off and give us a call before the water causes damage.

My AC uses R-22 — can it still be repaired?

Sometimes, but R-22 is no longer produced in the U.S., so recharging an older system is expensive. If your AC needs a major repair, replacing it with a modern system is often the better investment. We'll lay out both options for you.

How can I prevent AC breakdowns?

Change your filter regularly, keep the outdoor unit clear and schedule a tune-up each spring before the summer heat. Maintenance catches worn parts before they leave you without cooling.
